Cadet Ethan VanEnkevort is a first-year nursing
student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center
College of Nursing – Lincoln Division. In December of
2022, UNMC-Lincoln nursing students were awarded
their white coats to recognize their enrollment in the
traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
During the ceremony, nursing students recited an
oath of professionalism, signed a pledge, and donned
their white coats they will wear until their graduation
in May of 2024. Through this rigorous nursing
program, C/VanEnkevort has been able to take part in
clinical experiences where he was able to provide
direct care for patients in geriatric units, mental health
units, obstetric/labor and delivery units, and upcoming
clinical hours in medical/surgical units.
C/VanEnkevort is also a third year AFROTC cadet who
was 1 of 40 cadets across the nation to earn a nursing
enrollment allocation. Upon graduation and
commissioning, C/VanEnkevort will be on track to
continue to pursue a career as a flight nurse in the
U.S. Air Force.
