Captain Fisher is currently an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and is responsible for the training, supervising, and developing officer candidates into leaders and commissioned officers in the US Air and Space Forces. Additionally, he instructs college-level curriculum covering Air and Space Force.
Nick enlisted in March 2003 as an Aircraft Hydraulic Maintenance Technician and cross-trained in 2012 as an Imagery Intelligence Analyst. He later graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in December 2016, which led to his commission through Officer Training School in November 2017. After graduating in 2018 from the intelligence officer course, he was assigned to Offutt AFB, Nebraska supporting the RC-135 fleet as Flight Commander of the Emerging Technologies Flight and the Data Management Flight. He then led collection management for Iran, Yemen, and Afghanistan intelligence collections at Al-Udeid AB, Qatar. Nick also led intelligence collections operations during the Afghanistan Noncombatant Evacuation Operation in 2021, where they evacuated approximately 124,000 people to safety. Later, Capt Fisher was the Chief of the Director of Operation’s Plans and Requirements Branch and Executive Officer to the Commander, USSTRATCOM/J2/Joint Intelligence Operations Center, where he coordinated General Officer/Flag Officer priority projects and ensured official administrative and operational tasks were accomplished for USSTRATCOM leadership, the Secretary of Defense, and Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Captain Fisher has deployed three times, one to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as an Intelligence Liaison, and twice to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as a Maintenance Technician for the MH-53 PAVELOW. He is also an Air Force Language Enabled Airman Program (LEAP) scholar with a focus on the Spanish language and culture.
