Maj Joseph “Yeti” Sebey serves as the Operations Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 465, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Maj Sebey oversees operations of 46 cadets for the detachment, manages and executes 12 annual Lead Lab Objectives, instructs collegiate level courses, and provides critical personal and professional mentorship. He is also responsible for readiness and execution of daily operations and an annual budget worth $8K.

 

Maj Sebey received his commissioned in 2013 from Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. His career as an intelligence officer spans the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of war within the Central, Indo-Pacific, European, and Northern theaters of operation. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Section Commander for the 20th Intelligence Squadron (IS), Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, where he managed the Command Support Staff and Commander’s Programs. The Squadron provides tailored geospatial, precision target, and force protection intelligence. The 20 IS is certified in Precise Point Mensuration and is the sole DoD producer of targeting and weaponeering intelligence for conventional air-launched cruise missiles. Additionally, the 20 IS is one of three Air Force squadrons comprising the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Target Center. Major Sebey has deployed two times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
